PATCH TEST POLICY

At Beautifully Gorgeous Hair & Beauty, the safety and health of our clients are of utmost importance. As part of our commitment to your well-being, we adhere to a strict patch test policy for certain treatments. Please take a moment to understand our policy below:

1. When is a Patch Test Required?

A patch test is required for services that involve hair colouring, eyelash/brow tinting, lash lifting, and certain types of facials. If you are new to our salon, have not had the service in the past six months, or have had a change in your medical condition, medical treatments, change in prescribed medication, permanent tattoo or temporary tattoo (such as Henna) you will require a patch test.

2. What Does a Patch Test Involve?

During a patch test, a small amount of the product to be used in the treatment is applied to your skin, usually behind the ear or on the inside of the elbow. This test checks for any allergic reactions to the products used in our treatments.

3. Timing of the Patch Test

Patch tests are conducted no later than 48 hours before the scheduled treatment. This gives us enough time to monitor your skin’s reaction and determine if it’s safe to proceed with the treatment.

4. What Happens if I Have a Reaction?

If you experience any reaction (such as redness, itching, swelling or burning) within the 48 hours following a patch test, you must contact us immediately. In the event of a reaction, we will not be able to proceed with the treatment. Should you develop a swelling, intense burning, itching, blistering or breathing difficulties you should seek immediate medical attention.

5. Can I Waive the Patch Test?

For your safety, we cannot waive the patch test requirement. All clients must have a patch test for the services specified, regardless of whether they have had similar treatments elsewhere.

6. Booking an Appointment

When booking any treatment that requires a patch test, please keep in mind that you'll need to visit us for a patch test no later than 48 hours before your appointment. Our team will remind you of this when confirming your booking.

Thank you for understanding and complying with our patch test policy. Your safety is our priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in ensuring your treatments are carried out safely. If you have any questions or concerns about patch testing, please don't hesitate to contact us.
